I am currently in the UK and have had my mobile phone stolen. I have spent 2 days trying to contact Meo to block the number and request a replacement Esim. I have eventual managed to speak with someone (after spending nearly euros 50 on calls, and have now been informed that there is no way for me to be able to get a replacement esim while I am in the UK.

Can someone please explain to me why this is as it makes no sense to me what so ever.

Have you already tried to call this number?

Yes. I have spent 2 days trying to call the number.

I have now eventualy been told that my number has been blocked but I cannot get a replcement esim without an acess code. I have been told the access code has to be delivered to my home in Portugal which is not helpful as I am in the uk for at least the next 5 weeks.

Having a phone stolen is probbaly the most stressful thing to happen to your phone and Meo seem to have no simple way for their customers to report this or resolve their issue while overseas.

Hi @Jamie Witcombe

I am very sorry for the situation 😕

Through your My MEO Client Area you can Create a Request for Support and Report this type of Situations to MEO (Free of charge), and should is possible to request a Second Way of your eSIM

Unfortunately, It is only possible for Code to be sent and received only at your home (in Portugal), may be due to the need to guarantee, with certainty, that you are even the Owner of the Number (and you are not a third party to make the request). In other words, for safety reasons.

Can't you ask a family member or friend in Portugal to receive a code letter for you?

There is no one to access my house while I am away. I do not understand why the codes cannot be available on my account, on the app, via email or alternative number. I understand the need for security but there are better ways to check this than using a postal service. It seem rediculous

There is also.nonway to raise a support request as the automated service does not allow for this situation and goes around in circles with the opertunity to log a request for support

Sadly, that may seem to be my only option 1/10 for customer service
