eSIM will not activate

I purchased and downloaded a eSIM to my iPhone

The status is hanging at “Activating….”

The digital assistant has not been any help and I tried the customer support telephone but I guess as it is Saturday …..just a long auto attendant message

I do not live in Portugal but to access Portugese services online I am required to have a Portugese mobile number.  How can I resolve this?
