Dear sir/mrs.,

 

We are a Dutch couple and have a holiday home in Portugal.

We had a contract with MEO for TV, Telephone and Internet. We only use Internet, so we wanted a cheaper contract. In October we asked and received an new offer of MEO. If we wanted to confirm this offer, we had to send an SMS to MEO with the text SIM and some numbers. 

 

We did not send this SMS to confirm this and stopped with MEO. This we did half October 2020 in the MEO shop in Armacao de Pera. It seemed to be okay, we did receive an end invoice and an e-mail , in which was asked why we stopped. So far so good. We paid the invoice and thought it was all right.

End October we went back to the Netherlands.

 

It was amazing that we received on 20 November an invoice for a new contract of MEO, while we did not confirm the offer. Of course we did not pay this invoice. We had contact with the MEO shop in Armacao de Pera. In an WhatsApp the lady in the shop told us that someone else (?!) confirmed a new contract by telephone.

How is that possible? We did not send that SMS with SIM and the numbers and therefore we did not pay this new invoice.

 

Than we received another invoice of MEO with a penalty of  € 237,50. 

Again we had contact with the shop and told that we did not pay something we did not have.

We hoped this was over, but now we received an invoice of Intrum Portugal in order of MEO, we have to pay

€ 304,84.

 

We have just one obligation to MEO, we have to bring back the old equipment, a router and a TV box we never used.

We would do that when we were back in Portugal in February. Unfortunately we are in a lockdown because of COVID, so we cannot come to Portugal, but as soon as we are there we bring back the equipment.

We hope you will make an end on this situation and stop sending us new invoices.

Hello Andreas,

Looks bad. We as you wish to change to only internet, as we don´t use the other services. I am trying to understand how to contact them. Not easy. How they handle you is a good warning. An advice. I think here in Sweden it is good to contact Intrum Portugal, and tell that you are not accepting the cost from MEO, but maybe you handle this otherwise. Wish you success.
