COMPARATIVO ROUTERS FIXO

Obrigada pplware.

Re: COMPARATIVO ROUTERS FIXO

Hi!
Even if the GR241AG router has som good technical prestanda, it is still from an end customer point of view the worst router i have ever seen, and I have worked in the computer/telecom business for more than 30 years.

Why? Because it has at least three very serious securoty issues because the end user do not have the administrator password of the router.

Security issue 1:
How many persons have the admin password to my router? I don't know. As far as I know, hundreds of persons can log in to my router as administrator and change the configuration. Any of them can modify my DNS setting to a fake DNS server and thus trick the end user in various ways. Please read this article and especially the last lines
"And speaking of routers, it’s never a bad idea to check whether your router’s security is adequate. It’s always advisable to ensure it is properly updated and configured, so that no one can access it unauthorized, and we should avoid using weak passwords or having services activated which allow remote connections to the router. "

As I cannot log into my router as administrator, I do not consider it safe.
If you have a lot of money in your home, would you consider it safe knowing that hundreds of people have the key to your front door?

Security issue 2:
The router answer on ping. Can not be configured by user meo. Security issue.

Security issue 3:
The firewall can only be turned of and on. Have you ever heard of a router where the firewall can only be turned off/on?

Kind regards,
Rickie Kåveby
